Jake Turner lives on a mixed farming enterprise north of Lake Cargelligo, NSW. He is currently in his first year of a Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, NSW. Jake’s passion for the beef industry and the Angus breed started at Yanco Agricultural High School where he was actively involved in the cattle showstock team from years 7 to 12. Alongside seven other like-minded people, Jake is stoked to have the opportunity to not only represent Angus Australia at the World Angus Forum, but also Australia’s wider beef industry.
World Angus Forum Youth Team Coach applications are open
The World Angus Forum is coming to Australia in 2025! The World Angus Forum is an exclusive global event that brings together Angus cattle breeders, enthusiasts, and industry professionals from around the world to share knowledge, showcase their cattle, and network with one another. The forum is typically held every four years in a different host country and includes a variety of activities such as educational seminars, farm tours, and social events.
Thanks to the Angus Foundation, an Angus Australia youth team coach aged between 25 and 35 years will have the opportunity to be selected for the Australian teams competing at the World Angus Forum.
The selected team will compete against other teams from participating countries in a range of agriculturally based competitions which are designed to be fun, challenging and will undoubtedly be a remarkable networking event surrounded by likeminded individuals from across the world.
Applications are sought for an Australian team coach who will not compete but will lead the team and develop a learning and supportive culture enabling the team members to enhance their skills.
and knowledge while also being competitive in the described disciplines. This position also includes assisting with organising a training event prior to the forum and other team needs such as uniforms and travel arrangements as required.
